It had been way too long since I last saw Caroline and Nelson. Baby Nelson was just tiny the first time I saw him… a mere 4 weeks old, and his big brother Jack was a rambunctious toddler. Now “Baby” Nelson is almost three years old, and Jack is a grown-up 5 year old! I spent the first few minutes of the session giving Caroline and Nelson a hard time for keeping these guys away from me for so long… but I quickly got over the lecturing, and settled into the task at hand. This family has been joined by the sweetest baby girl. Baby Ann Chandler is about 8 weeks old, and she is absolutely perfect. I don’t know if she is always this easy… but for the 3 hours that I was graced with her presence, she was an absolute angel.

(couldn’t resist the baby feet :) )

When I first arrived, Caroline was feeding Ann Chandler, and the boys were settling into the idea of having me around. It was hysterical to watch them orient themselves around their mother and their new sister… I think I’d go insane if I were touched and snuggled and talked to so incessantly, but Caroline bore it like a champ, and truly seemed to enjoy every second. Baby Ann Chandler, on the other hand, appears to merely tolerate the madness, at times :)

Check out the smiles! At 8 weeks old, Baby Ann Chandler is already a seriously happy baby. She would smile so big she’d almost seem to hurt her face!

Nelson is a seriously awesome dad. In her email to me, prior to our session, Caroline described Nelson (or Big Nelly, as she refers to him) as “the most funny and quick witted person I know.” She went on to say “I married him because of his undying devotion to his family and friends. He is the most loyal man I know, and the one person I hope my children emulate. He is an unbelievable dad.” These words ring very true to anyone who watches Nelson with his kids for any amount of time. He’s obviously crazy about them.

And he never fails to make Caroline laugh :)

Everyone got together for a few minutes so that Jack could read to us… Seriously, could this family be any more adorable?

Remember what I said about how the boys are always touching/hugging/loving on Caroline? This image seems to sum that up, for me.

The boys ran off to get their scooters, and I caught Caroline and Nelson indulging in the quiet… and in their new baby girl.

(This image makes me laugh. Baby Ann Chandler’s expression is awesome)

Before we went outside, the boys wanted to show me their room. Nelson has graduated from the nursery to sharing a room with Jack… and I think they really feel grown up :)

Each boy took a second to snuggle with his sister… I was impressed by how gentle they both were!

One of my favorites of the day…

We headed outside so the boys could burn off some energy… I think they could’ve ridden their scooters for hours!

This turned into another awesome opportunity for Nelson and Caroline to snuggle their baby girl a bit. I loved capturing their interactions!

A quick clothing change…

And it was finally time to rest. Ann Chandler was wide awake the entire time I was at her house!

It was a super fun session. I can’t wait to see everyone again soon.
Caroline and Nelson… you guys are the best. I hope you enjoy your slideshow :)
