I’m sorry that this post has taken me forever to get online… it’s been a crazy week.
Last week, I spent the day in Nashville. I had a couple of shoots to do, and I was excited to be able to make the trip up, and catch up with some clients (friends!) who I hadn’t seen in awhile.
Rob and Nicole are absolutely wonderful. I always have a blast when I have the opportunity to photograph their family! I hadn’t seen them in almost a year… the last time I photographed them was for Kate’s 9th birthday, last August. A lot has changed since then… they’ve moved to a new home, Rob has gotten even busier at work, and Caroline has graduated out of her diapers :)
Rob was dealing with some unexpected work stuff, so most of the day it was just me and the girls. We had WAY too much fun… I mostly forgot I was working!
We started the session in Caroline’s new room. Seriously, isn’t she the cutest 3 year old you’ve ever seen?

I think she looks just like Kate in this picture… love the laugh.

After Caroline showed off her room, we headed to Kate’s room. I have a feeling that Kate has a hard time shaking her little sister shadow sometimes… but she was such a good sport about it. She read Caroline a couple of books… and then finally got a few minutes to herself (although Caroline was never far away… she stayed perched nearby, just to be close to her sister).

This is one of the most hysterical images I have ever taken… Stump, the cat, was completely obsessed with me, and wanted to rub against my camera whenever possible. I was lying on the bed, photographing Stump and Brownie (who had decided that they wanted to hang out together) and suddenly he pounced at me. His face actually slammed into my lens… and we laughed for the rest of the day about it!

I think dress up time was actually my favorite part of the day. These girls have a dress up closet that is like nothing I have ever experienced. I think we could’ve hung out in there all day!

Brownie is such a patient dog…

Kate came up with some hysterical costume combinations.

I love this image of Nicole and Brownie… So cute.

Trouble, the second kitty in the household, hid from me most of the day… but I did catch her snuggling with Kate for a brief second.

Cooking is super fun for these girls… I loved shooting in this kitchen!

Caroline is a wee bit dramatic…

Delicious. The best part of cooking is eating… and I think Caroline would agree.

Caroline’s greatest accomplishment right now is her mastery of the “big girl potty”. I LOVE that Kate made her a poster to help encourage her with it. Adorable.

Rob was able to sneak away from work for just a second… but even after he arrived he wasn’t quite disconnected yet. I love that we caught him on his Blackberry :) This is somewhat of an outtake… but I love it:)

The Blackberry was quickly put away, and Rob proceeded to be the best book reader in the history of the world. He made me (and everyone else within hearing distance) laugh incessantly, from cover to cover.

Seriously, I love this family. They make me so happy. I cannot wait to go back and hang out this fall.
Nicole, I hope you enjoy your slideshow. Thanks for always making me feel so welcome. Your family is absolutely amazing.
xoxo
